About Me
I got my inspiration for photography after the very first trip on the Art & Design National Diploma course. We visited York and at the time I only had a camera phone to document the trip. Shortly after I purchased a D-SLR due to not been satisfied with the images taken with the camera through my phone. After buying my camera, I found myself using it every opportunity I could, trying to fit photography into every project brief. I took it upon myself to study about photography to help fit my photographs with the project brief I had. I'd watch YouTube tutorials and read camera magazines and even look into a bit of history behind the camera, even made my own pinhole camera out of a tobacco tin, to help understand how a camera got its images. I'm highly interested in learning new ways to edit and take photo's and more importantly, be involved in a course that will give me opportunities to use the camera in every project brief. At the moment I take a wide variety of photographs e.g portraiture, sports, landscapes, wildlife etc, and feel this course in Manchester will give me more direction into which type of photography to specialise in and further push my knowledge of how to take amazing photographs.
Macro Hornet
This image was shot as walking around Bolton Abbey, edited in Photoshop to bring the colours out in your face.
Close up
for this shot I took a close up of a mate for a portraiture project, I then edited it in Photoshop, making the image monochrome and changing the colours to bring the detail out in the eyes.

Yeadon Tarn sunset
This shot taken as walkin round Yeadon Tarn and edited in lightroom to intensify the sky.
Portrait, Monochrome, HDR
Shot taken at Bradford College, added a few effects from Photoshop and Lightroom to give the black surrounding, monochrome and HDR to create that cool sense of feeling to the photo.
Long Exposure
This shot was taken on Bradford Road in Birkemshaw overlooking the M62.
Tilt Shift
In this shot I came across a new technique used in a stop frame animation, and decided I wanted to know how, watched a YouTube add and managed to piece it together and was happy with the results. used Photoshop, and used the quick mask mode and gradient tool to mark the areas that needed lens blurring to create the illusion that the cars are models.
HDR Panorama
Used this image in a recent project, took a series of three images, merged them in photoshop, and altered a few of the HDR settings which left me with this image.
Swift Macro
This shot was taken outside a cafe whilst walking round the Idle & Thackley Canal. Touched up a through area's in Lightroom to bring the colour out and clarity.
The Strid
This shot was taken at Bolten Abbey where a load of rocks have fallen over the years and water gets forced through the middle creating a lot of drama and completing this image. this image was also touched up in Lightroom.
Emperor Dragonfly Macro
Exposure (1/320), Aperture F/8, ISO 200, Focal Length 300mm
This image was taken at Rodly Nature Reserve near Leeds. At the time I was interested in macro photography so I visited the dragonfly ponds, waited for a good few hours and managed to find this rare beauty. Touched a few area's up in Lightroom and was pleased with the results.
